Plato, a Greek philosopher, and disciple of the infamous Socrates, once wrote of something he called the 'ideal' form. He said that when any person envisions a form--any form, for example, a chair, a triangle, or a circle--the image that each and every person will see in their mind is identical, provided they're imagining the same form. This definite image of said form manifests in the mind in what Plato referred to as it's 'ideal', or eternally perfect shape.
